I run colonies of 1.2 - 1.4 in the jumbo kitty litter pans available from Zellers for $7.99. Excluding the tubs, my rack (holds 8 tubs) cost roughly $40 or less if memory serves...

There are tubs at Ikea right now that are heavy duty plastic, white and the dimensions are 6.5 deep, 22 wide, and 29 long. They are $10.

We have Wal-Mart up here as well. The large size litter pans are not suitable for rats however, I use them for my mice and although I don't use hides for most of my snakes, I have a few larger boids that seem to need them and they work well. I tried Wal-Mart first, but they didn't carry the jumbo sized litter pans. The only jumbo litter items were houses

Today... $4 US = $5.32 CDN

sorry I forgot about the difference in money. What is the lengths of the wal-mart large litter pans? They seem like they could easily hold a 1.3 here?

I don't have the dimensions, but I would estimate they are around 18"Lx10"Wx5"H (I can remember they are indeed 5" tall for sure).
