HI again.
I just ordered 100 silkworms and food and I was wondering can I freeze the extra food which I don't need? I will be starting a breeding project on these guys so any helpful hints or web sites are welcome. Oh yea I will be mixing the food myself, and I was wondering can I add some calcium powder to the mixture? I heard that mulberry leaves will make silkworms larger than if you feed them the mixture, is that true? When I see mulberry trees for sell ima buy it and TRY to grow it.... hahaha I don't have a green thumb .
Hi John, You can freeze either ( dry or already made ). I make up a batch of food, slice it but not cube it, and freeze it in 1cm thick by 6-8" long sections. Taking out one piece the night before I need it. Just make sure the food is thoroughly thawed
Adding calc, I do not know the answer to that one.
