Is yesterdays news safe to use as a substrate?
My wife mentioned it to me and I began to wonder.

If anyones knows or has any info on this stuff, I appreciate it.

Absolutely, most ink is vegetable-based so there is no problem of toxicity. Many hobbyists use newspaper as a substrate with no ill effects. Sometimes heavily inked paper will impose a dirty look onto your snake due to ink rubbing off the paper and onto the snake.
