Sanitizing a Living viv

I currently house my ball python in a living vivarium. I just purchased a rack system and will be moving her into it. What I am wondering is how do I go about sanitizing the tank without disturbing or damaging my plants? I want to put a different display snake in there, but I dont know how to go about it properly. Any advice would be appreciated!
