What do you do with bleeders?
We have/had a 1.4 group, and my beige female had 2 black (the color patern is like an otter! black back head, white bellies!) babies, 1 male, 1 female.
I didn't want a 1.5 group as that would be way to many for my snakes. So I took out the one little female that hasn't started breeding yet and was just under 4wks old.
Thing is when I whacked her she bled from the nose and mouth. I wiped up the blood and something like a clot came out the mouth? What do you do with your bleeders? Do you wipe the blood from around where they are bleeding and wait for it to stop? Or do you just throw them in a bag and put them in the freezer? For those of you that whack and freeze.....
thanks for your help.

I try to avoid getting it all over the place, so I won't carry them upside down, but other than that I pay no mind to the blood.

Ok, besides having to clean up the porch (thank god it was outside, I was thinking about doing it inside!), I just wiped it up, and stuck it in the bag....

Does the same go for their 'side splitting?' when I whack em? I am sorry as this is gross, but I was told to whack em hard so that I dont have to do it twice and a few of them had their sides split and spill... should I toss these out or still feed them to my snake?

they will probably still eat it. if it's not to bad go ahead and feed it to the snake, they will probably slurp it up like spaghetti! (and guess what we are eating tonight, lol!)
My bp did that once, ate the insides, couldn't get the entire mouse. so we ended up throwing the mouse away and heating up another one.... Don't hit them hard enough to split them, You want to kill them, not mutalate them.

Feeding them off when they are like that is perfectly fine, albeit it can be a bit messy Freezing might be kinda hard, unless you lay it flat to freeze then thaw it at room temp in the same manner.

I built a gas chamber anyways today for a total whopping cost of less than $4. I tried it out and it works much better! All that it is is a sterilite with a smaller rubbermaid glued inside of it at one end. I put quite a few holes on the smaller rubbermaid and two pin size holes at the top of the wall of the other end of the sterilite. Does this sound about right? I couldnt find much on old forums as far as how to make one

I don't know if thats right. I would like to be able to make one as well. Maybe someone can put a list of things you need and then maybe a pic by pic (step by step) way of putting it together?

That's a great idea! I've always whacked because I didn't have much idea on how to gas, but if someone who has set one up could post instructions (and pics would be great!), then I might feel more confident to give it a try. (It worked great with the rheostat/dimmer - I would never have tried making one if it hadn't been for the instructions posted by Lisa).

there's a couple posts (one by me) on how to make a cheap gas chamber that uses dry ice.
I just fill a garbage can with rats, then put in a tupperware full of warm water and dry ice.
