26"+- blood eating
I have a blood python, and have fed it large mice every 3-4 days for some time now. She began to eat 75% of them backwards, so I tried a large rat fuzzy, which she ate head first. Today, I tried to feed my son's 4' ball a medium rat, and she didn't eat( she ate a medium+++ rat 7 days ago) so I tried it on my blood. It seemed too big, but she sucked it down no problem! I was shocked! The medium+++ rat I fed the big ball last week wasn't much bigger than this one, and the ball had a tough time swallowing it! My little blood had NO problem! Pretty impressive I thought. I took some pics with my regular camera. I'll have them put on CD and post them .
I'm still amazed, and think she could even take down something bigger... Only problem was, she couldn't fit in her moist box hole after eating! LOL

The only thing that amazes me is that you didn't know that a blood had the ability to take prey MUCH bigger than itself.

blood feeding
Well, it's my first blood, and am still learning. We've had the balls for awhile, and they're my only comparison. Before purchasing the blood, I did as much research as I could online, as there aren't many other sources of info. These forums seem to be the best places to get info, from owners with experience. I'm figuring her out now, and can sense what she needs/wants, just by being observant of her actions. I guess this is second nature for really experienced snake owners. I'm getting there...
Thanks to all for answering questions, and driving these forums.

Crazy Feeder! She eats alot! Hopefully my mice will start producing like mad(i have 1.3 and 1.3). I will be able to feed more mice to her. I found a supplier for a buck a mouse but hes so far out of town. Is she growing alot? Good luck with yours, its my first one too!

feeding
Yeah, she's growing pretty fast. I got her in early september, she was 16" and somewhat thin I'd say. Now she's 27" and pretty damned fat( and heavy!) I have a feeling that she'll hit a BIG growth spurt soon now that she's on rats though. Pretty excited about that! I don't know how big her parents are, so I couldn't say what she'll end up topping out at. But I'm sure she'll be fat and happy!BTW, she's VERY docile and well mannered...
