Hi Brian,Nice tris! They're pretty! Look like sinaloae/nelsoni only with a black snout..
It looks nothing like the photo in Markell's "Kingsnakes and Milk Snakes" but Markells photo also looks nothing like the drawing in Williams and also doesn't resemble the photo on the web
I searched the internet for photos of this subspecies as Williams has no actual photo in his systematics book.(only a sketch)
There are several websites, but the odd thing is they all reference the same single photo, by Martin Schmidt. His snake looks like yours only with much more black tipping which presumably comes in with age like most triangulum...
Differentiating some Mexican and central American triangulum, is certainly a challenge to say the least. It's no wonder there's always such debate about validity of some subspecies.

Its funny Roy should mention Markells book as I just looked them up there last night myself & yes they look nothing like the ones in the book, but much better! I thought they were Sins when I first saw them LOL Mark

Well I just tried to plow through Williams definition... It's not exactly a fun read
That pattern on the head should go all the way around.. Ie the chin should be mostly black like the snout.
Sinaloans and Nelsons have more white under the chin and on the snout
Of interest is that the flow in Williams Key to subspecies flows from sinaloae(first red rings more than 18 scales long) to nelsoni(first red ring less than 15 scales)snout white from middle of prefrontals forward, and then it says not as above..and leads to conanti where it says Head and snout black....

So basically it should look pretty much like Nelsons with a black nose, and that it does

Unfortunately, the pic washed out the black tiping. The tiping is quite evident up close. I will take more pics later this evening. I am also waiting for a reply from Larry Keller who acquired them from Roger Conant.

The chin is black. Additional info i was able to attain so far is the pair were taken near a lake 12 miles outside Acapulco. I also found out that mine are not third generation. That's a guess. But maybe not far off. He said they were taken maybe +/- 10 years ago. Another ineresting fact. My contact said that the Milk snakes and Kingsnakes "A complete Owners Mauual" by Markell has an incorrect picture which is the same pic as your link on the bottom. He said it is of another tri-color but cant remember which one it is.
