Dog food for mice too?

I know that a lot of people here recommend feeding dog food to their breeder rats, but what about for mice? Is it also appropriate for them?

lots of people do...i found horse show to be much better for me, and the same price. It has more grain and less meat, closer to natural diet. dog food has more protein and usually give bigger litters, that and price is probably why most like it.

rats have much more meat in their diet so dog food is fairly appropriate. i think you will find with mice they often have the runs with dog food...

if you do use dog food use the cheaper stuff with no die and more grain (less meat).

i was breeding mice for some time to use as feeders. after reading and studying up on this i understood that using dog food could harm your reptiles, because of the red food dye
