Ackies...

Hi,
I'm thinking of getting an ackie, and I have a few questions. Is an ackie the same as a ridge tailed monitor? What is the minimum cage size for an adult? And how much do they cost around here? (a CB one)
Thanks

Hey there, Ackies are one of the easiest monitors to keep! I keep a group in a 4x2x4. (5 of them)

I really wouldnt go any less then a 3x2x2 for a single animal. However, buying just ONE you really miss out as they really do well in a communal setting.

I believe the going rate is about 400$ for a quality well established animal.

I have a proven pair up for sale, and will post them along with pics in the classifieds soon. If you're interested, PM me and we can chat. Iam a newcommer to the dwarf scene of varanids, iam sure others like JonK, Jeff F, Ravi etc will be of help to you as well!

Hi There!
Follow V.hb's description for caging. They really are the easiest monitor to care for, almost bullet proof. Ackies and ridge-tailed monitors are the same thing. There are both red and yellow ackies as we commonly call them in the hobby. All ackies in Canada will be captive bred.

I have both red and yellow ackie hatchlings available now. If your interested, PM me for prices. Also, you can check out my website to see some pictures of the adults.
