Ball Behaviour
Both of my balls displays this behaviour. They both will lay there flat with maybe the upper fifth of their body almost straight up, motionless for what sometimes 10 - 20 minutes. Is this a breeding type behaviour, are they tasting for pheremones? It's usually about this time of year. One is a male and the other was probed by a friend, I think its a female(a rescue), kinda on the light side, I'm trying to fatten her up but she's been off-feed for about a month. Temps are fine and stable, UTH, hides, humidity. I believe all my husbandry is fine, much of which I trust from this site. So is this usual behaviour? The male I've had 3 yrs and he does this every year. Thanks.

Do you have any pics of him doing this?
Could mean nothing.... if he does it every year, it can't be too serious like IBD or anything. Does he still feed well when this time of year comes around?

Both my BP's do it, almost like a "cobra pose" lol. Seems like they are watching something. Is there a t.v on, a cat in the room, rodents in there? can it see a tree moving outside? lol a cat is in my room and both of them can see my rabbit moving, and one can see my 1.1 rats running around.

I've seen it in a few of my balls, I've never worried about it though. I chalk it up to balls being balls.

Yeah, I'm not worried, just wondering. I'd like to be "at one" with my balls. Man that sounds weird!

Yeah the little ball python periscope thing, is that what you mean? If it is, its hilarious! My older girl does it when she is out and about, and a little one i recently got did it for a minute when I had him out for some photos.

Scalawag, do you want to become more of a snake, or do you want your snake to become more of a human? "At one" sounds very Zen of you...
