New rescue boa
This guys owner died in a four-wheer accident. He had about 3 inches of shed stuck on his tail, with the bones in the tip exposed. After he was soaked for a couple hours the dry shed came right off and so did the tip. Everything is nice and pink and not icky looking. My boss (vet) said s/he'll be ok.
What kind do you think she is? Central American?(my guess)
Thanks!

It's really hard to tell, actually. It could just be a darker Colombian for all we know. You can't even tell by size, because I've seen some Colombian boas stay at the 4.5 - 5 foot mark. If you do want to speculate on pattern though, Centrals are usually WAY darker than this, and usually have much higher speckling between saddles. This looks more like a Colombian to me.

First off don't worry about locality. If you are concerned about locality boas you need to buy them from reputable breeders. The majority of captive bred boas out there are of mixed lineage although they may exhibit traits consistant with a locale due to genetics. Just as you can not assume a person is irish because they have red hair...
Now I would say that the central american genetics are dominant in that animal, and it may infact be a central american by importation but without knowing it's history I will simply say it's a very nice common boa.
