Breeding Questions

As some of you may know, this is my first experience with breeding boas (Hog Island Boas to be specific).

I'm looking for general values pertaining to the ovulation/shed cycles that a gravid female with go through just to get an idea if I am on track here.

- Recap - (leaving out cooling/cycling stuff)
They were breeding for close to two months straight before the female lost interest in the male. I kept them together for a couple weeks after that point just to be sure and they have been separated since. Suspected ovulation was November 30, and she has just shed today (January 7).

Any input and/or suggestions are appreciated.

If you sw ovulation, then wait for the NEXT shed. 105 after that shed (post ovulation shed = POS) she should give birth.

Doesn't ALWAYS work like that though. But for some, they do it like that every time.

Is it usually around 37 days for a POS? I wasn't sure if that is just coincidence or if she is on schedule for a gravid female or what. I keep them in Boaphiles so that does limit my visibility. This is why I am unsure if indeed I did see ovulation or if I made it up in my head

Thanks Jeff.

NIAGARAREPTILES:

This will be very cool to see some new Hog Isle Boas out there, best people so far in Canada on them is BIGDAN, JEFF FAVELLE, and a few others getting into this now as well.

Good luck keep us posted. Hoping end of 2004 I can have mine ready as well.

Cya...
