Talking Breeding/Shedding

ALL of the breeding pics ive seen lately have sheds in them, just skin laying around.

I have read that it is better to put a male in with a freshly shed female, b/c it is easier to detect pheramones etc. Is this why the pics have shed skin in them, or am I missing something? thanx

Some breeders I've talked to put the male's shed in with the female to prepare her for the male, specially with king and milk snakes.
