Since Nova is healing but doing better, I thought I'd post a couple of pics of my first bp, Tolliver! I got him when I was still in high school and learned everything beforehand from a girl in my business law class. Didn't learn anything in the class but got plenty of education (or so i thought! You're never really prepared!) on bps!
Tolliver was definetly a learning experience. First he went almost to the day, an entire year before he ate! I tried every size of mouse they come in...from pinkies to adult mice but no luck. He simply woul not eat. He had ticks, shed problems...and the little bugger was an escape artist! Got out of his cage and just dissappeared for over a month. I came home from school to find him bathing in the sun on the porch. A miracle but he was just fine! And then he pooped a few weeks later! He had ate something...and then there was no going back...until winter time! Good Lord I wish the internet was a bigger thing back then because once again I was panicking because he had stopped eating. I took him to the vet (and tell me if you've heard this:-) the vet gave him a vitamin shot! No luck but he still held a nice weight so I wasn't 'too' scared yet. Then the weather changed, the temps outside rose and viola, his appetite turned back on!
It was 10 years this past December that he came o live here so I guess I'm either celebrating a birthday or an anniversary! Whichever, I love ya Tolliver!
(and yeah, that's HIS bottled water...nothing else'll do)! LOL
