Oh Man This Is Terrible!!!!
Well tonight before I had to go to work, I was playing w/ my new digital cam phone and I decided to snap a few pics of my friends baby yellow head retic that I am keeping for him. Well, I put him on the kitchen floor to take a body pic and he was near the kitchen counter, I didnt think he would be able to go anywhere, but before I can even bend down to grab him, part of his body went under the counter and I didnt want to pull on him to hard. I didnt even know there was a 1/2 in. opening underneath there. So now he is under the cabinet and there is no way for me to get to him. I took the drawers out but it didnt help. I cant believe this, I'm such an idiot!!!
Does anyone have any tips on how I can get him to come out of there???? I'm worried im not gonna be able to get him back.

Try placing some food just out of his reach on the kitchen floor. When he smells it and comes out for it, you can drag it with tongs until he's all the way out from under the counter
Hope that'll work, good luck!

That is a tough one,
You can try "baiting" the snake out with some food, and perhaps setting up a area with a heat lamp and a hide with the rat, close to the opening.
With any luck he may come out to eat and warm up.
Another option may be to get some kind of broom handle and push it out. Other than that you may have to cut some of the material away.
Good Luck
Brian

During rattlesnake roundups in sweetwater TX, they would spray regular gasoline from a hudson style garden sprayer into the dens or crawl spaces where the snakes could be seen lying coiled up out of reach. In just a few seconds, when the fumes would hit the snakes, they would come streaming out into open areas where they were easily gathered by the crew waiting with tongs and barrells. If you are very carful, and take reasonable safety precautions (extinguish all open flame, ignition sources, etc.), and make sure you do not spray liquid gas on your pet, then it may do the trick. Please be careful and good luck!

During the snake round-ups they have no intention of keeping any of those snakes alive, so they go barbaric and use cruel means of capture. So why would you want to do that? Oh and it's not the fumes that drive them out, it's when they ignite it that the snakes come out of the dens.

5 minutes after I posted this I got the news that he was found. He is back in his enclosure safe and sound.
Didn't mean to start a debate...but fjhanley using gasoline to fish out a PET snake from under my kitchen counter would NEVER be an option. I appreciate everyone's replies, but come on man...GASOLINE????
Baiting it might not have worked for a few days, he just ate 4 mice yesterday..but thank god I dont have to worry anymore.

I lost a boa in my car once. I read if such a thing happens put out a dish of water...eventually the animal will get thirsty even if he's not hungry.
It took about two days but he came to drink and I just happened to come out to the car when he was there.
