Durango Mountain King

I just got a Durango Mountain King. They are my absolute fav. of all the milk and king snakes - I am very excited! My question - Some of his bands are black - not many. He's very tiny, maybe 6 weeks old or so. Will some red show through these bands or will they stay black? When I purchased him, I was told that it may or may not. I just wanted to get all of your opinions. Thanx!

Country:
Danielle, I would expect some red to eventually show in the "wider" bands, but many I've seen with "thin" black bands (mostly nearer the tail) remain all black.
