heat rope
Hey everyone,
I was wondering where do u get heat rope from and how much does it cost? Oh, and for flexwatt, can you jsut pile a cage on top of it while on the carpet, or would you need to leave some space in between?
Thanks,
Ben

you can get heatrope from big apple herp . as for the flexwatt you can't put it on the carpet because it will melt the carpet and then you have a problem. and you also need to have air room. what i would do is put a board down on the carpet then put a couple little strips of wood then the cage and put the flaxwatt in the gap that that leaves in the middle.

Ben, if you're from Canada (doesn't say under your picture, hehe), you can get both flexwatt AND heat rope from Port Credit Pet Centre in Ontario. ( www.portcreditpets.com). That's where I will be ordering mine from.

Crazy; if you're heat tape is hot enough to melt your carpet, it's hot enough to cook your snakes. You NEED to use a rheostat or proportional thermostat.

I don't think it's 3 feet... but I could be wrong. Just give them a call. I don't where else to get it cheaper, I'm afraid.

ReptileBoi; you can get a Zoomed rheostat at almost any pet store for about $25, or you can get a Proportional thermostat (Big Apple, Helix) for about $200.
Crazy; if everything is hooked up properly and you have control of the temps, I'm almost sure that no carpet would be injured..
