Some of my snakes who won't eat during their shed cycle will eat the night they shed or even before thier shed of that evening. None of them are brb's though.

My Ball eats during shed. Fed him while he was soaking in his water dish.

My BRB eats whenever food is offered, regardless of shed cycle. If you BRB doesn't want to eat while it's in shed then just offer they prey item when it comes out of shed. If it doesn't want to eat, it won't You should be fine offering food whenever though.

ummmm. I'm a snake newbie.....how will it tell me? Generally I just feed once a week.
I offered her some food today, and so far no go.....She struck at it, but it was a "get outta my face" strike and bite, cuz she let go of the mouse. I left them in there, and she still hasn't eaten....(it's been in there for 12hrs now)
She lost weight too....I don't have my record book here right now but it was around 7grams lost. I'm hoping thats normal ?????
I thought shedding showed they were growing.....if she's growing, how come she lost weight??
Thanks

You will learn with time to read your snakes behaviour. Guidelines are good to follow until you get the hang of it, and weekly feedings are safe. All snakes are unique in their ways, just like people so we cannot really tell you when your snake will want to start eating again or not. As several people already said, some snakes may feed all the way through their shed, some may stop when they are in shed, some may even stop a couple weeks before a shed. You just have to get a feel for it with time and observation

This has been my experience as well. In fact, every single one of my boids in general will eat at any point during their shed cycle, though I prefer not to feed them until they have shed. I have heard of the rigors of shedding causes regurges, so I prefer not to take chances whenever possible.
