Last but not least
This is a Eastern Red Backed Salamander I caught in May. The pic isn't that good, but you get what it looks like pretty much.

As well as the animals I have pics of, I also caught a Smooth Green snake and a Ribbon Snake, but didn't have a camera.
I LOVE field herping. Next year, the first Herp on my list that I need to find is a Fox Snake.

Hey Mike,
If fox snakes are what you'd like to find in the spring, you should come out for our Pelee Island trip on the May long weekend. For the last three years, I think our fox snake counts were 6, 13, and 8. Not to mention the Lake Erie water snakes, melanistic garters, Blanding's turtles, and the occasional Blue racer. I'll show you how to handle water snakes properly, too:-)

cool salamander. when i was up in northern california with my cousins at the end of last november we caught (and released of corse) a ton of lender salamanders and a few pretty big tiger sala manders and like one little skink but no snakes *tear*
