Converting prefab closets

I'm wondering if its time-consuming/cost-effective to convert a pre-fab closet (like something you might buy at Lowes or Home Depot) into a habitat for a herp. If anyone has done this, do you have pics? Tips?

This isn't the pre-fab closet, but this is what we did to an actual closet in our house

I've seen a few people convert corner shower units as enclosures before. Not closets, but they still looked great!
