I gotta start bringing a camera to work

I have been meaning to bring my camera to work. I have taken it a few times and haven't seen anything. Tuesday morning I was driving on my 4 wheeler and saw what looked like a snake from far away. As I got closer I noticed it was the biggest eastern diamond back I'd ever seen. He was stretched across a trail trying to warm up. I stayed about 5ft away from him until he noticed me. He just moved off a few feet into some high grass and we stared back and forth for a while. He had to be upwards of 6 ft and as thick a rattler as I've seen.

An hour later I was driving up to a small pond and there was a six foot gator on the bank sunning it self. I'll be bringing my camera for now on. Just thought I'd share.

Cool I wish I worked at a place like that. EDB is my goal snake for next year, I would love to find just one let alone a 6 footer.

I will be getting a digi ( a good one..lol) for my herping trips this coming year. I had bought two, but both failed to work correctly, and the 35mm is not "permissable' as herping equipment, so says my woman. So my herping pics are very crappy as of now.

Burmer, you be sure and post those pics when you get them!

Pyrrus, I just bought a Canon A80 and it takes great pics. Theres a ton of options on it, as well as a swivel LCD, and its 4 megapixel. It doesnt bother me, but the only complaint I read in reviews is that the LCD is too small. (1.5" instead of 1.8") But really, who cares how big the LCD is, its not really for viewing anyways. Besides, its a super clear picture. I give it 5 stars!

I took a disposable with me today. I was hunting all over the area I found him in and haven't spotted the diamond back again. It has been a little colder here lately. I haven't seen anything except some yellow eared sliders in the last few days.
