best type of wire mesh for cornsnake cage?

I'm building a new cage for my corn it's 5'x3'' and 3'5'' plywood on the bottem and sides and 5'x3' pexiglass on the front what would the best wire mesh be for the top for my cornsnake that manges to wedge herself through anything she can find. any suggestions?

If this is for vent purposes I suggest getting a pair of shower drain covers. The holes are just under 1/4 inch and the edges and holes are smooth and a pair can be put on both sides of the hole using a carriage bolt head for the inside that won't cause any cuts or abrasions
