Work in progress....

Here are some pics of the enclosures I'm building right now. They measure 4 x 2 x 2:

I do things a little differently, in that there is only 1 foot of glass space - the litter dam and top lip are 6 inches each. This saves a TON of money on glass, but still gives me enough room to manouver boas or whatever else I put in there.

Still to come is the glass tracks, glass, electrical, and a vent or two. I'm in the process of siliconing the joints right now.

Thanks for looking.

Good job Ken.

But after i was done building my first cage which was a 4x2x2, i decided to build all the rest of them 18" high from now on, for me it saves on some room and alot of wasted space as all my boas just lay around and do not even attempt to climb even when there is furniture in their cages.

But to each their own

Thanks guys.

Munchy - This is 3 of the 6 cages I have planned to build before New Years. 2 will hold BCIs, 2 will hold adult corns, and 2 will hold Columbian Rainbows. Next year I'll keep going with them.

Tim - I decided to stick with 2' height for several reasons. 1) On a 4x8 sheet, I get exactly one full cage per sheet, minus the litter dams, which I have 14 of. So for every 7 cages that I build, I have to get another sheet of melamine diced up for litter dams. 2) My BCIs for some reason LOVE to climb all over like monkeys. 3) It allows me to keep a uniform design for the animals that do use the height, like the corns. But primarily, it saves me from getting another cut and wasting melamine. I like that 1 sheet=1 cage.

Very nice cages - will be nice for the corns to have so much space. We have some in cages where they can climb and they really seem to use all the space,

Is that a pool cue???

Yup, really a shame you're in Canada.....

There certainly aren't enough pool-playing snake lovers down here in Houston...

Great work on the enclosures!

Actually, it's an electric guitar case. But I do have my own pool cue as well.

jathoma - I am planning on visiting Houston sometime in the future. We'll have to hook up for some billiards and some field herping if I do.

Those cages look awesome. I also like that less glass idea. Please post some pics when they are completed.

Most definitely let me know....

I certainly need to get out of this house....

It's funny....when my soon-to-be ex moved out, all she pretty much left me with was my python and my cue....

Go figure...

Let me know when your plans will bring you down, man!

Yup, I really think that Invictus is doing an awesome job, he had everything perfect on the first go, all the measurements where on the ball and everything. He's now reading a book on basic electrical wiring, so, he should have them all complete in no time.

Agh, I just noticed that my foot made it into the bottom pic *LOL*

Good work hon!
