New enclosure
It measures 7' x 11' x 8' high.
Cost around $800 in materials, a set up 50 gallon aquarium for the friend who helped, and $100 in rum.
We framed in the shelving glass peices with 2x4's and 2x2's. It wasn't meant to be cheap, but strong.
We are now wondering what we should get to put in there.
Any suggestions on what you would put in it if it were your cage is very welcome. We are all ears!
Ryan

I suggest me. I don't mind being put on display as long as I get to eat for free and am warm.

I have a salvator water monitor, he used to be housed where that cage is now built. The wood is thick, as thick as most peoples legs - much thick enough for any monitor.
Also have a nile monitor, they become more terrestrial as they get older.
To put an iguana in there would epitomize the term "waste of good wood" in my opinion.
We've thought about big scrubs, they could look really cool.
We were offered zooboomafoos lemur when it became pregnant but declined. It would work, but i'm not into keeping primates - and wouldn't keep a live mammal down at the reptile house.
I like the suggestions so far - we want it to be something really cool. What would you, as a reptile keeper, like to see in such a large cage if you came for a visit.
Money is no object - whatsoever!
o.k, I've just always wanted to say that

Vanan's on the same page as me, although Maiden's got a good point about the scrubby, but I think they prefer a more terrestrial lifestyle as they mature, don't they?
You could always spring for that leucistic nile, I hear his price has dropped below half a mill. *snicker, snort, giggle*
WhutEVer...
Tell you what, Ryan, Get another $100 worth of rum and you and I can sit in the cage and start drankin'. I'll bet by the time we reach the $80 mark we'll make a fine display! Ok, maybe just a spectacle, but that's a start isn't it? Send Sheila to the vendors for more and we can call it a retained spectacle!
Give me a break people, I ran out of beer an hour ago and am on my third double rye. I'm just warmin' up!
