Beardies v. Uros

How would you guys compare bearded dragons and uromastyx, in terms of care requirements, personality, difficulty in keeping, etc....

Well I dont know how to compare to bearded drags because I have never owned one, but I will compare market value. A normal bearded dragon is about $45 or less from a breeder where as Uromastyx are still up in the hundreds as CB babies. So Uromastyx are more worth your while in the business area.

I have owned Uros and they are great personality wise and are great to watch and enjoy, If you dont mind a messy animals then uros are great.

Carewise, from rescues we have gotten, uros seem to be more tolerant. B.dragons are very sensitive to mbd. They both need uva/uvb, and hot spots that are quite hot.
b.dragons will eat crickets when young and go to a more herbivorous diet as they grow, but will still eat insects as adults (odd how in the wild they are still mainly insect feeders). As uros, well veggies all the way.

I have 2 uro's and used to have a beardy. I sold the beardy because i didnt like its diet, to hard to keep up with and they eat a TON. The uro's are quite simple. No water dish needed, just certain types of veggies, make sure you can get them all the time all year round before you buy a uro, and thats about it. As siretsap said, a high temp basking spot some good uv. They are a joy to keep and even just to watch. So inquisitive and hilarious. Deffinetly better then beardies from my experience..sorry to any beardy owners
