new spin on 'favorite bands' thread
a few people here mentioned theres a "Favorite bands" thread here every month... I agree.... I'm going to put a different spin on it
name some local (to you, wherever you are) bands, any musical genre, that are a good night out to go and see in a club. This will expose bands to people out of area, and here is a chance for self exposure for some
any additional info on said bands would again help to promote/expose bands and maybe turn some fellow members on to a band they might not have otherwise heard of
I live in the Vi... er ah, Niagara Region in southern Ontario Canada:
-Sound the Alarm http://www.soundthealarm.ca
-Screaming Black Cadillacs
-run with the kittens http://www.runwiththekittens.com/
-LMT Connection http://www.lmtconnection.com
-the Silverhearts http://www.thesilverhearts.com/
-the morning after (after doing a google search I found at least 3 other bands that call themselves "morning after" or "the morning after"... none of them were the band I saw out in a local bar last night... but if yer around here and hear of a band by that name... they were pretty good)
-everything was perfect http://www.everythingwasperfect.com
-the Smoothies http://thesmoothies.com/main.htm
Im sure theres plenty more I havent thought of... this is just off of the top of my head (and I havent had a coffee yet today). I will add anyone else in in further replies... but I am really looking forward to seeing some replies in this thread
and of course everyone keep an eye on: http://www.pulseniagara.com/calendar.php

Alright...I'm a blues fan living in Ottawa. One guy to see is "Southside" Steve Mariner. He's a great harmonica player. Plays the rainbow once in a while. If you like blues, check this guy out.

I live in Peterborough, Ontario and my friend's band is definetely worth checking out. They are called The Attic and they are good ol' rock and roll. They have just put out there first CD. I can post some show dates once I talk with them next if anyone is interested. Their live shows are getting better every time, last night's show being the best yet.

The Bethlehem Blues Collective.
If you like blues guitar, check out Dale's Testimony. You can listen to the song here. Don't worry, there's no lyrics to this one.

Screaming Black Cadillacs are AMAZING!!!!! I see them play at the Kilt and Clover in Port Dalhousie................
Another good band, based out of Toronto is MamaKin......an Aerosmith tribute band, they put on a great show, full costume. Great bunch of guys too. They play all over Ontario and down into the States.

I live in Mississauga to and i used to play at the stupid Masonic Lodge all the time a few years back, we have THE WORST scene in Canada. Our scene is consisted of Screamo bands and punk bands and that's it. No more metal bands, no more rock bands, no more grunge bands...not even NU METAL BANDS!!! Just goddam Punk and Screamo bands, i hate them.
Go here for some hard rock:

Man it's been a long time since i've been out thats what kids do to you i guess. One band that comes to mind is Big jesus truck. Although i haven't seen them in quite awhile. I saw someone mention the Rainbow before and i have to say one of my fave guys to play there is Tony D really wicked blues music and a great guy to boot.
