help!

My royal shed tonight (her first full shed since i got her) and when i took the skin out of her cage i noticed that there was red colouration (like blood) around the vent area of the skin. i took her out and checked her over but there was no blood or blood stains around the vent. can anyone tell me what this could be?

Happens to almost all of my balls every time they shed. I wouldn't worry about it.

All of mine do that too... especially if they take a dump when they shed.

Don't worry.

thnx guys, i was kinda worried cuz my boa's have never done that before. emroul ---> she shed last night (well actually early this morning) and took a dump sometime today. So I don't think it has anything to do with that. But it's still nice to know that it is somewhat normal

somewtimes when they shed, the skin can get caught on the vent scale, and cause it to bleed a little, it does happen and it isn't serious. as long as it doesn't look bad/infected don't worry about it. if you do think it may be open still (the wound) then you could put a little polysporin or neosporin on it with a Q-tip just to be on the safe side.

But really it is nothing to be worried about.
