That's sad to know :S

It isn't that easy to repopulate an area with a certain species of animal... even if you put a LOT of them into the wild. But perhaps efforts are being made!

They have tried. Every time they reintroduce them, people see them and are like "they're not extinct" then they catch them and sell them as wild caught. They have tried though.

I would imagine it's harder that it would seem. Even if you put a lot of them in the wild, count all the ones that would die from predators or sickness or being killed by people, then how few of them would actually meet and mate succesfully, and how few of those babies would live. Theoretically, I'm certain it could be done! I do hope they are trying.

Species become extinct for a reason. You can dump all the captive born animals you want there, but unless you can change the condition that caused their extinction, they'll suffer the same fate as their ancestors.

and usually the major condition to change is getting humans, their clutter, and trash out of the picture. We definitely are the worst of the infestations, we kill our own why wouldn't we slaughter everything else.

Country:
It is sad, I have also heard that dogs and cats also will attack and kill them.

Hog Island

HI,
many of the capitve born animals have drifted away from the actual traits the wild animals had.
From what I ve read they were very skinny small boa's that survived on little food in an extremly hostile island . The first animals that were removed were difficult to feed and breed. How different from the species being sold all over the internet.
