Looking for a digital Therm/Hygro combo...
I currently have one that requires me to actually place the unit inside the cage on one end and it has a probe that I place on the other end.
I'm wondering if anyone has/has seen one of these that has a probe for each end of the tank but allows me to keep the unit outside the tank?

yeah I have one .. its cordless..
I use it for my incubator - so i do not have to open the box - Highly accurate but expensive..
Its for sell at Radioshack for about 100 or so bucks good for over a 100 feet distance and u can buy more cordless sensors for 30$ each .. great investment in my mind..

I have one that is simillar to yours by the sound of it. I'm not sure why you want to constantly monitor seperate spots in the same enclosure at the same time, what I have done is leave the probe in a spot that I want to measure (lets say it's the hot spot) for 24 hours and then check the high and low temp for that spot the next day. Then I take the probe and move it to the opposite end (the cool spot) and leave it there for another 24 hours then record those high and low temps. Assuming that there are no big differences in the temperature of your house day to day the numbers should stay the same. It's a longer process but you get all the same data. Is there a reason why you need to run the thermometer all the time? I just use my thermometer to verify that I'm getting the right temps when I have done something differently like switch heat sources or set up a new enclosure. Other than that though the temps should be consistent or within the range measured in the 24 hour test period.

Thermometers with remote probes are simply indoor/outdoor thermometers. These things are made for home use. It would be illogical to have two remote probes in a consumer type product.
The simple solution is to buy two units if you feel the need to monitor two locations.
Also there are very few remote humidity devices. Most are remote temperature only.
Also be aware that all the electronic readout units are typically accurate to plus/minus 1 degree C or 2 degrees F..
This means that if you read 80F the temp could be
anywhere between 78 and 82. Most are better than this, but I have tested, and own dozens of these things, and rarely do two read the same.
You can check them by putting the probes in an ice bath. They should read 32F in a glass full of water and crushed ice.

Thanks, but I found exactly what I was looking for at Big Apple Herps. I bought a single probe model from them a while ago and must not have noticed the dual probe model. I find it useful to have in the tank all the time for constant monitoring. If I'm away than my boyfriend or anyone can easily check the temps for me without any work. My current model (single probe) always turns out to be accurate when I double check temps with my temp gun. I just find it easy to just be able to glance over into the tank and get a temp & humidity reading whenever i want.
Thanks!

Thanks for that...Very interesting. It's the first time I've seen such a thing. I've also never seen a remote probe hygrometer for such a low price.
With current exchange rates, that's a pretty good deal. Perhaps I'll buy a couple and see how they perform.

I just ordered the dual probe (one probe for temps the other for humidity, unit sits outside cage) for my Kenyan Sand Boa I plan on buying in the next few weeks. I already have the dual probe (one probe temps, one probe temp & humidity, unit sits in tank) in my Ball Pythons tank. I really like it. It's just that I don't want to have to sit the unit in my KSBs tank because its only a 10 gallon. I've had no problems with my other one so far. I use my temp gun regularly to check that it's accurate.
