hydroplaning means that a very thin layer of water occurs between the tires of the car and the road. Your tires loose grip on the road entirely. The care actually rides on top of the water like a hydroplaning boat. Very very dangerous driving conditions! The brakes and steering barely work or not at all. I had my licence for 3 months when I lost control of my mom's car hydroplaning on my way to school. The police said that I probably reached over 120kms/hour before I launched the car into the air and onto the roof, doing a few 360's before coming to a stop. My passanger and I walked away from the accident with nary a scratch. The police and ambulance said I should have died in that accident. My thoughts and sorrow goes out to your classmate and his family in this painful time.

What is it with fatal car accidents lately, I just lost 2 elderly cousins about 2 months ago in a fatal crash and last weekend we lost a good friend in a fatal crash on 4th line rd by kemptville he was only 36 yr young and left behind a wife and son, Your friend will deffinatly be included in our daily prayers. I'm terribly sorry. This young man will need the support of his friends, in this very tragic time in his life. God Bless, and our thoughs and prayers will be with him.
