Why so many mice? They should be eating 1 proper size rat, especially that male, 5 mice instead of 1 rat. you should definately switch to rats. That male is way to big for mice.

Very nice boas.....just a thought....you shouldn't really handle them for a couple days after being fed. Handling too soon can cause them to regurge.

And I agree foman....rats do have more meat on them.

Good luck with them, they sure are pretty!

hey everyone, i just thought i'd let you know that i usually give my big boa two adult mice and a medium rat but we didn't get any rats in at my work (PJ's pets) this week. i'm also working on getting my small boa and my baby royal python on rats but they are being a bit stubborn.

Note: I'm not trying to flame, just giving some advice.

I believe you need to rethink your husbandry and do some more research. Your snakes should NOT be housed together. It is not WRONG to feed your snake lots of small prey items, but it is not recommended. Move up to ONE appropriately sized rat and you will see a significant amount of growth - which is the sign of a healthy animal! Remember, these animals are made to take large meals.
