Angry What a mess

I found a real mess when I got up today. I went in to check on her cage and found a huge crap and some urates in the water bowl, some feces on the towel to help with shedding and a huge skin shed, 90% of which was intact. She was certainly busy last night.

My new female BCI took her first real dump since she's been with me two days ago. I think that every young or in experienced keeper who is considering BCI or BCC should have been there to clean it up. It's not something that is ever talked about but it should be. The amount of crap that comes out of one of these snakes is enough to turn someone off the idea of buying one. I think that if they are going to be turned off because of having to clean up more crap then an adult football player can put out then they should be put off by it before they buy the snake and not after they already have it. We keep preaching to people to do their reaserach and know what they are getting but do we ever tell them that the BCI or BCC or even the Burm that they are considering buying will one day crap like a hourse? I think it may make a difference for some people. I'd hate to think that the BCI I got was given up because the previouse owner got tired of cleaning up after it but it's very possible. I for one always said that it was one of the reasons why I didn't want one. Mind you now that I have her I'm never letting her go but still, it sure wasn't fun cleaning that mess the other day.
Cheers,
Trevor

The clean up was easy here, she always dumps right in the water bowl. Flush it and wash it and I'm done or if I'm feeling lazy that day flush it and replace it with a clean one.

I've been in the health care field for 7 years and nothing grosses me out anymore! When mine leave a package for me, I just consider it a sign of affection! If I didn't look at poop that way, I would have left my job YEARS ago! LOL

Hahaha yeah shed days usually end up being "trash my home" days for most snakes

My 4 ft Taiwan Beauty snake had a shed a few weeks ago and, before she got it all the way off, she had a big dump... and then finished the shed. I came home to a nice little package as it was completely contained and she was amazingly clean. All I had to do was throw out the "skin baggie" and my clean-up was done.

Now THAT"S love...

LMAO!!!

I always remember reading a post on a burm forum a few years ago about the appalling destruction that was shed/poo day! They attached a picture as warning to all those contemplating a large snake without realising the down-side, and it stuck in my mind.
Of course, I still got a BCI!!! LOL! I also have a boyfriend who does the clean-up operation too!!! Ha ha!

And now it's my turn to gross people out... muhahahah!!!

Here's last week's sign of affection from my baby girl!!! Enjoy...

See, I think we need more pics like that everytime someone comes on line and says they want a Burm for their first snake.
Cheers,
Trevor

I totally Agree, My Cloe (BCI) is only 28" and her poops are MASSIVE way bigger than you'd think they'd be. I actually WANTED to take a pic and post it, but thought everyone would turn up there noses.. but next chance I get, I will do just that... People really don't think about it....
