Any of the BCC will be comparable in size. (Suri, Guyana, Argentine, et al). So it's probably more safe to just say BCC would be next in line.

Is the anaconda a Boa? I'm not sure... I think it's a species all of its own.

I thought that at one time too... but I weas quickly corrected here. ![Big Grin](http://www.ssnakess.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif) They are in the Family Boidae, sub-family Boinae, thus they are boas. Many taxonomy sites only list primary Family, Genus, and species, which is why I was under that same impression - had even one of them listed Boinae sub-family, I would have clued in.

Yes they are a boa. So are Rainbows, so are Rubbers, so are Rosies, and so are Emeralds. They just aren't a Boa constrictor. That is a common name that just so happens to also be a latin name.

Hey I thought Argie's were B.c.o's I thought it stood for Boa constrictor occidentalis Native to Argentina and Paraguay. I would tend to agree with Jeff on sizings Green conda's then yellow conda's Argies then Suri's guyannan's and Roovies(these three are all pretty close in thier max length) Jeff when are you coming down to see my new male? Then again we could just drink beer and party.
Hip

I would say that the BCC are the next biggest boa after the Anaconda's. Peruvian's, Suriname's and Guyana's are BCC.
This one is a Peruvian.
<img src="http://www.mccarthyboas.com/bigperuvianboa.jpg">
I believe this one is also a Peruvian.
<img src="http://www.mccarthyboas.com/03_2003SerpentsdenComSteveMarkevich.jpg">
These are Suriname's.
<img src="http://www.mccarthyboas.com/BigSurinamBoaAttila.jpg">
<img src="http://www.mccarthyboas.com/BigBoaDanMulleary.jpg">
<img src="http://www.mccarthyboas.com/BigSurinameWithWoman01.jpg">
I do not have any pictures of any big Guyana's but I did see a pair of them 5 years ago that where over 10' long.
They where the parent's of my Guyana named Rose. So I about 5 more years I would say
she will be up there in size. I am kicking my self for not buying the parent's as I could of gotten them for $600.
Take care,
Tom
