Bearded Dragon Cage Size

Well I have got two Sub-Adult both about 5-6 months in age, anyways my uncle and I built a 48" long 24.5' Deep 24" High. How long do you think this would be enough space for 2 beardies? I kept them in a 30 gallon ( I know its bad!) I just was tight on money so I kept them in there and allowed them just to run around my room alot. Anyways how long would you say before I would need another size increase on the cage.

As long as the two of them get along, that cage size should be okay for life. Just watch carefully to make sure each dragon feels safe enough to eat and bask whenever s/he wants and there is no bullying going on.

Having 2 basking spots is helpful when you have 2 dragons. Lot of folks use halogen lights to create smaller basking spots, but you have to be sure the dragon can't get within 6 inches of them as they get really hot!

O no no, They have been together for about 2 weeks now in the smaller set up with no problem, they often eat/bask together and both seem to get a fair share. So I think they should be fine

Darren179, pay extra attention to their behavior when they near sexual maturity. Even with 2 females, high circulating levels of hormones can cause territorial aggression. I see a lot of 6-12 month old dragons brought into the vet hospital for surgical wound repair after they hit puberty and become more aggressive. Puberty can hit as young as 4 months old in fast-growing males.

Yes I have been carefull to watch the same thing went on with my other 2 beardies now both adults They live together great im hping the same with these 2 and yes I have not seen any aggresion I think because of the variety of hides/basking areas.
