Other reptile forums?

hi everyone i am in reptileforums.com reptilerap.com reptilerooms.com texasreptiles.com o and of course ssnakess.com
i have been on ssnakess the most becuase it has the most members but there are more mean ppl hear than some other places i go 2 does o well.... but i like places like this anyone know anyothers?

There's k i n g s n a k e . c o m (ssnakess didn't like me to list that one normally) of course, and a couple others, but they are not very big. (snakesandstuff.com and hotsnakes.org < only talks about venomous species but I like it). The hotsnakes.org is mainly people from other countries other than the US, and I find it rather informative when people DO post.

There aren't many mean people here. Maybe 1% of the community at the MOST. But there are people here that will call people out if they do stupid things with their reptiles (like letting a Water Dragon free-roam in their house). I'm glad we have people like that here. Totally.

xxbad - people here arent mean. They are knowledgable people that are trying to help others when they have a problem or correct them when they're doing something that could be harmful. I think you are mistaking this for being mean......Maybe the people on those other sites dont know enough to correct you.

I'd have to agree. I won't name names, but I've visited a few of those other sites, and saw people either giving wrong information, or not correcting someone for doing something wrong...and this included people who were running said sites. :/

Thanx friends! I think we are at a point where we'd much rather come here, get corrected if we're doing something wrong or dumb, than go to a site where its a bunch of novices praising us for bad husbandry. AT least I know I prefer it here.

But I like a lot of the specialty forums as well. A lot of the monitor places and Ball Pythons places. They are a little more in-depth and beyond the scope of a HUGE place like ssnakess, so they have their place on my web browser as well.

The only other forums I ever go on to anymore are www.corallus.com , in addition to sSnakeSs.com. I used to go to Just Rainbows a lot as well, but it seems to have been forgotten these days. Maybe I'll rememebr again

As for mean people, like Jeff said, there are very few mean people on this site. Most are just very concerned for the animals, and will speak up when they see something they deem unfit. sSnakeSs.com has the lowest amount of mean people, this is one of the many reasons it has risen to number one in such a short period of time, with such a large memberbase :thumbsup:

I browse a few forums and this one is my favorite thus far. If you have a Live Journal I'd suggest checking out http://www.livejournal.com/community/herpers
and http://www.livejournal.com/community/snakecommunity

They aren't forums per se but they are very active communities.

I would rather come here and be corrected than end up killing my snake because someone else knew better but didn't tell me what I was doing wrong....

Not to many mean people here. I'm sure tempers flair and there are misunderstandings. But those are usually resolved within a couple of days, if not hours.

I to have been to some other sites and they if ever post, usually post wrong information. And if they get corrected are very hostile about it.

definately great people here,most people aren't trying to be mean(lol,i'm sure there's exceptions to that)they just don't want to see anything bad happen due to poor husbandry etc.
