Female Suriname
Here is a new female Suriname I got a few weeks ago. She is in pretty good health.
She did have a bad shed when I pick her up but I did cleaned most of it up.
By the next shed it will all be taken care of.
I was told she will be 2 years old this November.
She also eats frozen thawed rat with no problem.
Let me know what you think of her?
Take care,
Tom

I know that true red tails grow a bit slower but for 2 years old shouldnt it be bigger than that?
Just asking as i have never owned a suri or guyanan or any true red tails before.

TOM:
Nice Suri there, but yeah for 2 years old or so still a bit small, maybe she is younger than that. My Suri' s grew slow as well but at 2 years they were larger with a girth of a soda can at least.
Nice pics as well.
Cya...

Wow, look at that tail! Awesome... she's beautiful! Don't know much about boas, but she does seem a little small for 2 years old -- probably, she's just younger than you were told.

Yup I love Suris. I had a friends male here for a while last winter. I'd love one but in Hog size.
Cheers,
Trevor

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for the complements on the female Suriname.
I think she may be a little younger than I was told but it could be right.
My male 98 Suriname is only about 5 1/2 feet long and I have had him since he was about 3 months old.
Here are some pictures of him from last year.

What a tail! He's the perfect size too! Too bad they didn't stay that size.
Cheers,
Trevor

That female's tail is killer red! She's gorgeous! Your male is quite the screamer too, his tail looks almost purple! Very cool!

At 2 years of age your suri if it grows at a normal rate should be almost 4' and about the girth of a golfball maybe an inch bigger. If it is much bigger then that then you are overfeeding your snake and chances are it won't see life for longer then 10 years. BCC and BCi are very different , if you keep pounding food to them they will grow and be nice and big, but one day you will walk in to your house and see a dead fat snake!
Nice suris Tom

Most BCC don't end up finishing up to be the giants people make them out to be. Look around for a mature snake, they are definitely out there. Just like Tom's, my adult ('98) male is a foot smaller than my adult female hog at only around 5.5'. I don't think he will break past more than 6'. Thank goodness he isn't a big boy, he's enough of a handful at that size... all he wants to do is kick my a$$
