Fielding in South Carolina

Since my sub-division is surronded by woods, creeks and tall-grassy areas I figured I would give field herping a try. So after about an hour I found 3 snakes, and a huge spider. Two of the snakes were I believe Rough Green Snakes and the third a black racer. Heres a couple pics...

I guess this is a Rough Green Snake? Maybe 2 and a half feet long.

This is the second one I encountered. No more than 25 feet away from the first one. This one was about 2 feet in length.I almost stepped on the poor thing

As far as the black racer well... I saw him, he saw me, I looked down to pull out my camera, looked up and all i saw was his smoke trail. He was a very meaty, 3-4 footer.
My gallery seems to be full for now. But I will upgrade it soon so I can post more pics . Probably try again tonight to see what I can find, was fun.

Very nice finds, and great pictures! I can't wait until I get to go field herping, it looks like so much fun.
