Umm what the heck???

I checked in one of the rat bins today and the two adults were there, but no babies. I swear to god there were half a dozen 21 day old babies in there yesterday... where the heck could they have gone? Is it possible that they ALL found a way out of the tub and each one of them went out and didn't come back, but there is no trace of them now??

I could be crazy, I guess... but my rat records say there were 12 babies in there born 3 weeks ago (i probably killed 4 of them). Ahh... this is way too confusing. Is it really possible they all escaped?

Rats are pretty resourceful and can squeeze under and through some tight spaces. We found one escaped rat had squeezed her way under the lazer printer and the lazer printer requires both hands for me to lift.

I'd do some searching because that many rats would be alot for a pair of adult rats to eat.

I found two of them... it's a start, I guess! Now that I know that they escaped, at least I can about finding them.

Actually maby the rats ATE their babies. I remember once my cousins sisters gerbil had babies, and he had heard that if you frighten the mother she will eat them all. So he basicly screamed when his sister was right beside him and sure enought she devoured them all.

just a suggestion, Jeff

Country:
Can you post some photos of your rack for us, to avoid such mistakes in the future? I am making some drawings to build a rack.
Thanks~Greg~
