As Joe mentioned, a little frost bite is fine. Moderate to severe frost bitten items should not be fed though. I personally like to move my animals to rats as soon as they are able. Much less waste, and all the snakes seem to grow better.

Actually pinky rats have more fat and less calcium than an equivalently sized hopper mouse would. There bones are less developed and they have all that baby fat. Pinky rats definitely have much more overall meat than a hopper with very little waste... just about all of the pinky is used.
