External parasites and treating methods:

I discovered mites in a couple of my reptile enclosures and I would like to know what options I have to rid of them before the problem worsens. I have 6 x 10 gallon tanks, 1 x 30 gallon long tank, 1 x 55 gallon tank, 1 x 39 gallon tall and 1 x 20 gallon tall. I use paper towels as substrate for all but one of my tanks. I have only seen less than 20 all together, but I know they are almost microscopic when young. All help will be greatly appreciated.

I thought I should mention that I recently (two weeks ago) treated all of my enclosures with Frontline spray. It works wonders against ticks (which are now completely gone) but I haven't seen any affect on mites.

Thanks.

Dustin

By the way, my animals are all ball pythons (except for my Tiger Rattlesnake ).

Nix, nix and nix. Do a search for it on this site, and you'll find many informative threads on the benefits of Nix for complete mite eradication.
