Talking a herper in the making....

My little goddaughter held a snake for the first time tonight She was very well behaved, and so was the subject... lol. He just sat there like he always does... Anyways, I snapped a few pics, to commemorate the big event... lol. Loris will be 2 on Monday... She's been exposed to the snakes since she was 1, and has held a few of the geckos... this was her first time holding one of the snakes though

Anyways, enough rambling... lol... here's the pics

And here she is giving him back to me... lol.

Excuse the wonky ponytail on her head Her dad put it in, and he obviously needs some more practice... lol...

Thanks for looking!
Jen

That's pretty cool. I think all kids should have experiences like that. It's a great way to encourage early learning.

thanks guys! She loves all the herps... every time she comes over she goes into the gecko room and wants to take them out and play with them... "gecko! gecko!!". It's so cute And she likes the "nakes" too of course...

Mark -- LOL. Yeah right *I* don't even attempt to handle my GTP... no way am I letting him anywhere near her! The idea is to encourage her to like the herps, not to be scared shitless of them... lol...

Gee, thatīs really cute. You can never be too early to show kids what reptiles are fascinating and beautyful creatures. Iīve been to a pet-store a few days ago an a girl about 3 years old wanted to know from her mother ( i guess) what beautyful creatures were held in this terrarium (by pointing at two baby-constrictors). As the woman called it "snakes" the girl went screaming out the door. What can i say.... sombody spoiled the image of snakes to a person without any experiences. Sad thing that.....

Happy herping,
Pitviper
