Son of a b****!!!!!!!!!
We moved Neo (my veiled cham)today in to the unfinished shower for more privacy. Well i was checking him today and YIKES i think he has a prolapsed hemi ***** on the right side. I thought it was poop stuck but he was pushing it out a bit. And i seriously think it is his hemi *****. The front part was rock hard but a little bit in was pink and fleshy. How quick do i need to get him to the vet???
Thanks for anyhelp I'm seriously worried about him. I'm going to be calling my vet first thing in the morning!!! This is so upseting Why do people get animals if their not going to take care of them properly!!!!

Thanks trace for all your help. I greatly appreciate it. (talked with trace on msn)

called the vet first thing this morning and Neo is going in tonight at 6:30... They said he needed to be seen asap!!! I'm going to have an overall checkup on him I really hope he's ok and going to do good. I'm a worried about him. His overall health isn't that great.
Last night i got him to drink water and a few mins after he was done drinking i feed him 11 waxworms(not as a stable but he is on the skinny side so i wanted him to eat a few to try and fatten him up a bit) and he wouldn't really use his tounge i had to put the wax worm in my hand then he would put him mouth up to it and barley open his mouth and stick out a tiny part of his tounge and i would have to help him get it in his mouth. Anyway while feeding him a few of the wax worms he expelled some of the water through his mouth and nose. Is this also a cause for alarm. I Haven't seen him poop or eat crickets or his greens. Since i just got him i'm trying all the methods to feed. Free range, Clipped greens and bowl feeding. I haven't seen him eat any thing yet except what i have hand fed him. This is very frustrating!!!
To anyone that reads this that is thinking of doing rescues just beware i got this guy off of a person that didn't want him no more (so he's kind of a rescue for me) I have already spent 50 dollars to get his cage where it should be plus i still have a few more things to buy for it so at least another 20-30 for the cage. Then now the vet bills. At least 50 dollars for the vet visit then whatever care he needs. I imagine the bill is going to be over 100 plus i will have to get fecals done on top of that. Plus all the stress on this new guy. All of this for ONE cham. So if your not ready for the time and investment don't attempt rescues. I learned the hard way but i have a huge soft spot.

Oh man! That's just sad. What gives me a bit of hope though, is the fact that he does seem strong. He was climbing all over you and wanting to eat within the last 24-36 hours, so I'm hoping his chances are good. Are his colours nice and bright? Or pale?
I wholeheartedly agree with the "rescue" thing. I'm a total suck when it comes to animals that people don't want, or that people can't afford to take to a vet. You should see the condition that some of these animals come to me in. It's terrible. I spend far too much time, money and effort rehabbing these cases. I guess when they do make it, it's worth it in the end to me anyways.
Well really there isn't much you can do until to you see the vet, beyond stabilizing him like I told you last night. Try not to get too stressed or too frustrated today. Definately keep me posted and my thoughts are with that little guy.
Good luck!
Trace

Thanks everyone for your well wishes... Neo's not frustrating me at all in fact i'm already smitten with this little guy, it's the lack of care from the previous owner that upsets me. How can you have such a wonderful creature and not treat it correctly. That's what i don't understand. Ok enough with my rant.
Trace anytime someones around he goes instantly brown. Allthough i snuck a peek last night when he was sleeping and he was a real perty (lol) green. With some brown mixed in. I wouldn't call the green bright but i wouldn't say it was dull niether. Why does the dig. camera have to be out of town. He's Hides in the corners i guess he's real scared. But last night he walked out to his bendable branch and fell asleep in the middle of the cage. But when he woke up this morning he took off back to a corner. Silly little guy!!!
Thanks again every one. He's going to get help now lets just hope it's not too late for him.

Good luck with it all Drewlowe. I hope everything will be ok for the little guy. I think the brown coloring thing when someone is near is just to show you he doesnt want you around. Hell, all the chams in Trace's place turned dark everytime i walked in the room .
Hope to see some pics of him soon and again, good luck with the little fellow.
