What is the BEST shipping company??

Hi there,
I have to ship a small bearded dragon, not sure where yet but somewhere in the USA, and I want to know what is the BEST overnight shipping company there is to use? The one that takes the BEST care of the package. I have never shipped a reptile before and I am worried about the dragons safety. I know how to pack the box up but I am not sure which company to use. I guess the choices are Fedex, Airborne Express or UPS. I will not use the post office. Which one is the more careful with live animals? Thanx for the info.

I doubt canada post will ship live animals. And as for fed ex, from my last news tehy also didn'T ship live animals. I am not sure for ups.
But you should go for an airline company or a company that do accept live animals as a package.

I have shipped countless times in the US, and I have found that Delta Dash is the most secure and safest, followed by Fed Ex, and have used UPS without incident.

I think I will go with FedEx then. I get crickets through Airborne Express and although most of the time its okay, a couple times the boxes have come in with crushed corners. Thanks very much for the input

Another question: what is the best safest way to package the little guy? I know for snakes its best to put them into a cloth bag but what about a little bearded dragon?

UPS all the way i just like there trucks but put on the box live animal do not shack dumba$$ i got a turtle shipped by ups he was shacking to look for the label im like aghhhhhh

UPS and Fed Ex have policies against live animals. In the USA the best i've heard are with either the airlines, delta dash or airborne express. as for packing, i'd pack it in an appropriately sized delicup with holes in it surrounded with paper towel to keep the little guy cusioned. then put the delicup in a box surounded by crushed up newspaper. Mark the box with "Live harmless reptile" on all sides and "this side up" on the top etc. You want a carrier that has a heated hold, I'm told Delta Dash does, as well as KLM.

Thanx for the info, I have never heard of Delta Dash before but the person getting the animal will probably want door to door service (even though its harder on the animal to do the truck ride) I wouldn't mind going to the airport myself but its not that far from my house.

As for breeding beardies, I don't (well maybe I do now) breed them but the trio I have had other ideas and laid a ton of eggs. The third clutch is hatching right now with one more that might not be good. The first clutch that hatched, half of them died right before hatching, I am not sure what happened to them but I sold the 6 that were remaining to the local pet store. Then the second clutch hatches with a little better than 50% hatch rate so now I have 11 babies. I did put one on reptibid because the local pet store doesn't want them unless I practically give them away. It would be nice to get some money from the babies to be able to pay for the food for the adults for awhile. I don't know how to sex them when they are so small but I was considering letting them grow up alittle to see. It you can tell me how to tell the females in the hatchlings I can see if I have one.

My problem is that I have gone through a personal breakup and ended up with custody of the entire collection of animals and there is so much to take care of, its getting so expensive.

In the past I have refused to ship, but the University of AR contacted me this week and needed two canebrakes for a research project. They told me they had exhausted all local means of getting the snakes, so I agreed to sell them and ship them. It is my understanding that Delta Dash is the only company that will transport venomous so I have contacted them. I spent a good amount of time on Thursday and Friday trying to get the boxing requirements from them and had no success. Seems no one in the company seems to know. Wonder if I could get a better answer is I walked in with a cardboard box marked “live venomous reptiles.” This whole ordeal has been very frustrating to me!
