Ahaetulla nasuta
hey guys. heres a pic of my "Long Nose" vine snake. it is the largest vine snake i have at the moment. 4.5 feet long, and his head is about the size of my thumb. i thought some people would like the pic.

Very nice!!!!! Have you looked inside their mouths? They've got some wicked teeth. They actually put out quite a bit of venom but it doesn't *seem* to be all that toxic. Its got a lot less of the neurotoxins found in the other Colubrinae, having some whopping big enzymes in there instead. Not sure of the action of the enzymes though. I got chomped by a big one while collecting in Asia and my hand ached for two days. Didn't swell up at all though, just deep aches.
I love looking straight at them and seeing the grooves in the skull that allow for them to be the only snakes with true binocular vision. Very cool ;-)
