can someone help me 2 choose

Hello

I cant make a choise, for weeks I;ve been thinking about this.

I have the space for a burmese, or a green iguana plus I have got space for an other snake...

I've decided that I wont take on a burmese, simply because I am in a wheelchair and.. its just not realistic although I am totally in love with thoose animals..

Then I started thinkng about a bcc or bci but I dont know if that is such a smart idea, because someone told me boa's are in general stronger then pythons ( btw I have 1 ball and 1 gtp )

Long ago, we used to have a bcc but I was 4 or 5 .. and not in a wheelchair.. so... anyway

has anyone got an idea what snake would fit me. :P

A green iguana, would be kinda perfect.. as I have 24 hours a day to spend time with him/her... plus I am strong in my arms... but I cant decide so thats why I post this question... oh one thing if this is in the wrong...ehm .. place on the forum.. sorrrrrrrryyyy didnt know where 2 put it

I am in a wheelchair because I am sick :P.. sorry.. I dont think I can explain in english.. when I was 13 I got ill.. and after a few years in hospitals and alot of research and being a test bunny.. they knew what I had.. its a rare desease called ED... it destroys one of your gene's.. and your dna is mixed up and bla bla bla... it effect pretty much your whole body but with me mostly my heart and lower back

But, I would say... instead of a green iguana.. varanids are always avaliable =D. And like Jay said... I would grab a pair for one of your already owned snakes. Breeding is great =D, and puts a little cash into your pocket hehe

I would say, instead of a Green Iguana, get a Savanna Monitor As for a snake, why not go with a Brazilian Rainbow Boa? They're gorgeous!

You seem to be pretty intelligent; you know what your capabilities are and what you are able to take care of. A lot a people would buy things without realizing what's involved.

If you want a b.c.c or b.c.i go with a hog island they are smaller. But I think an iguana is not a bad choice either.

well.. I am not that kind of person that buys an animal.. and then gets rid of it again.. if choose to buy one.. I will keep on 2 it... ..

Honestly, Green Iguanas are a pet you must be DEVOTED with or else you'll hate having one. I personally will never ever have another Green Iguana after my Roxy passes away (heaven forbid)

They eat so much food, crap a lot, have the ability to ruin things including the skin on your arms and neck, they are powerful, they have a "I am the boss" attitude in most cases and need constant affection and time spent with them.

Not saying they have no good points though! Just with Green Iguanas, there is as much bad as good. They can be intelligent, emotional amazing creatures, and Roxy gives me a laugh everyday

I quess every animal has its "downsides" but I also believe that one shouldnt start on animals if your not prepared to clean up after them.

every animal wether its a cat, dog or snake iguana or chameleon... they all need to do "there buisness" one more then the other but.. yea well I really think that if it bother one, one shouldnt have started with animals in the first place


as for time.. I am at home 24 hours a day..

I agree with Jenn--I'm a huge BRB fan. I can't stand iguanas, though...they are pretty hit-or-miss when it comes to getting a nice, handleable one, although it was really all the crapping that prejudiced me against them. I know that you should be prepared to clean up after an animal, but there is just SO MUCH runny crap with an iguana.

Soooo, my vote is for BRB, or if you can't get one of those, is a uromastyx a possibility? I love those little guys.

uromastyx are indeed cute.. but again I havent got a clue how to get one...

Of course you should be prepared. But most people, even after research, don't understand what actually OWNING a Green Iguana is like.

Like I mentioned before, of course its more than worth it to most people, and although I won't ever have another Green Iguana, I most certainly treat Roxy (my current iguana, 5 feet, 6 years) like a reptile Queen.

But the practical side is that if you cannot handle a very rough 5 foot lizard who literally needs a stable sized cage, craps WAY more and messier than a snake of decent size, and eats like a growing child then you shouldn't have a Green Iguana. Roxy eats normally 21-30 full plate sized portions of food per week. That's two-three plates per day of a variety of greens and veggies. That's a lot for some people, including me. I do it of course though!

Anyways good luck making your choice< you may be the type of person who will enjoy your green igiuana and realize that they are indeed worth the trouble. But its always nice to know beforehand what you are getting into

If you have to have an iguana i would recomend getting a rescue.
