Unhappy mouse racks

ok one more question then i'll quit bothering you guys
 when looking at plans for a mouse breeding rack the mesh on top are people using 1/2 or 1/4 inch mesh
the 1/4 looks to small for the mouse to eat through and the 1/2 i'm not to sure if the mouse could get through it:w
sorry to bother you but i am wiling to learn from others mistakes

ps..could those of you with racks post pics and/or plans

thanks for the help...............Lance................. :medblackf

Definitely 1/4". Small mice can easily get through the 1/2" stuff. Keep that size for rats.

1/4" works not bad but I have found that 3/8" seems to work even better if you can get it. You might have to special order it but if you can get it for close to the same price like I said it does seem to work better.

Locally I got it from the one store in town that carries everything that everybody else should but nobody does. Ask around at hardware stores if they don't have it they should be able to point you in the right direction. Try and talk to the guy/gal who has been there forever. Also you might try Home Depot, I think I saw it at one last time I was on the coast. If they don't have it they maybe able to get it.

Good luck
