Herping near Toronto?

Are there any areas, near enough to Toronto, to go herping? If so, where?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated

Well, there are some good places in Durham Region. Second Marsh, Lynde shores, etc. Also, if you see any body of water with reeds around it, you can find turtles. I'm not really up on snake herping...but i'd try rouge valley. Looks like a nice habitat for them, eh?

In the summer and spring...

I usually find garter and Decays brown snakes all threw Earl Bales park. Especially in the grassy parts. If you look at the young-sub adult trees they have this black material at the base and in late spring-early summer you can find baby garters in them but you gotta promise me you will put it back! there isn't that much of it left! Anyway good luck.
