Snake bites
I want to know what you all think is the worse bite from a snake
out of the larger snake's
these are some that i have taken a bite from
Reticulated python
Burmese python
African Rock
Anaconda
Carpet python
Boa Constrictor
out of them i would have to say that the ROCK would be my worse bite
What was the worse bite you have taken by a snake?
Brandon

I've taken bites from a 13' retic, it got my elbow and tore it up pretty bad. I also took one from a 9' burm across the hand. It hurt bad but the retic was much worse and looked worse. I'd never forget either one of them though.

I figure it has less to do with the species than the intent. My adult female Bco nailed (and coiled my arm) me with a feeding response the maxed any other type of strike I had. A Bcc was the largest to nail me but with a defense strike, the much smaller (and hungry+smelling chicks on my hands)Bco did the most damage by far.

Fortunately I've only taken a bite from an adult Plains Garter Snake and a baby Vietnamese Blue Beauty. I'd have the say the bite from the VBB was worse due to the fact it drew more blood, hurt a bit more, and it was a much more persistent and vicious attack. The Garter only bit me once in self defense because I snatched it up while it was basking in the road, but, the VBB LUNGED at me when I took the lid off its bin and PURSUED me just to bite me more.

I know blood pythons arnt giants compared to some but this was my worse bite. Shes about four feet long and real bulky (not sure of her weight) like they are, anyway i was changing her water and she got me on my left forearm, it was more of shock than pain, drew quite a bit of blood but it was the amount of bruising i was left with impressed me

I would say like the rev said it has to do with intent and not just species but SIZE! If you got nailed by an afrock being 12' and then got nailed by a burm being 8'. THen it is obvious which would hurt more or be worse of the two. That is of course both being the same kind of bite...self defense most likely.

I got tagged by a 5' king the other day. Bled for about 1/2 hour and hurt like hell. Also been tagged by a VBB, but it was a very light shot. I don't think it was even really that mad at me.

What do you do if you get bitten? Do you have to go to the hospital for any shots and stitches?

Stitches would only be required if you were hit by a large animal. Adult retic or burm might require stitches and a trip to a hospital to get them. A large ETB Adult GTP would need stitches most likely and could possibly do nerve damage if it hits the right spot. I also think an adult ATB could do the same.
Other then that you just walk it off. Most bites stop bleeding within 2 minutes and the puncture wounds heal up within a week.

Also add those bites that heal up quick are by moderate sized snakes. Not 12' burms or retics.

When my adult female retic bit me it really didn't call for stitches. She didn't really make any tears she just put a butt load of punctures on my elbow.
