50% Het vs 66% Het ... And the difference is?????

I am sue this has been asked before but here goes. If you breed two 100% Hets the resulting morphs are out of the equation and the rest look normal but may or may not be Hets. Are these 50% Het or 66% Het and what exactly is the other one? Or are these two names for the same thing?

Thanks for clearing this up
Bruce

Albino x Normal = 100% hets
100% het x 100% het = 1 in 4 albinos, 66% chance that the rest are het.
100% het x Normal = 50% of the offspring may be hets
I think that's right,
Trevor

Trevor was correct with his explanations. So what it really boils down to is just a statistics game...

if you buy 12 het animals, the following should happen (give or take a few because this is statistically speaking):

- for 50% hets, 6 of them should be hets
- for 66% hets: 8 of them should be hets

So if you want to work with hets, but can't afford 100% hets, 66% hets are much better because the odds of actually having a het is higher.

Hope it helps!

Best Wishes,
Bristen.

a 50% het and a 66% het are the same thing, only one snake has higher odds than the other of actually being het.

That's right Zoe, good point. The animal is not 50% het or 66% het. It has thoese chances of being het. Some animals have a 50/50 chance of being het. Your odds increase up 66% when you breed too 100% together.
Cheers,
Trevor

OK, I found this browsing through the BOI. I am NOT saying this is FACT, but it wasn't disputed, either. Check out the link and the pic

Its almost at the bottom of this page
