Does anyone have a general rule of thumb on how big to build an enclosure? From what I have heard an enclosure should be atleast half as long and a third in depth as what is going inside. Does this sound accurate?
For snakes the general rule of thumb is to give the snake one square foot of floor space per foot of snake (with the exception of arboreal snakes, and for giant snakes you want to give a little extra).
For lizards, it all depends on species. Varanid require less space in relevance to say uromastyx.
